Scientific classification Edit this classification
Kingdom: Plantae
Clade: Tracheophytes
Clade: Angiosperms
Clade: Monocots
Clade: Commelinids
Order: Zingiberales
Family: Marantaceae
Genus: Calathea
Light:Like the shady floors of the tropical canopies, this genus prefers low to medium light.Too much direct sunlight can damage their fragile leaves. Too much sun exposure may result in sunburn or dullness in the color of the leaves.
Temperature: Along with low to indirect light preferences, these plants require high humidity to mimic their natural habitat . Some calatheas are placed in bathrooms, kitchens, and other areas with high-moisture levels. Calatheas prefer temperatures 60 °F / 15 °C and above to support healthy growth. These plants are also sensitive to cold air. The ideal temperatures range for these plants is 75 °F / 23 °C to 85 °F / 29 °C.
Watering: Calatheas should be kept moist but not wet. Over or under watering these plants can lead to brown, dry leaves.Calathea are sensitive to minerals found in tap water such as chlorine and fluoride.

Marantaceae and Calathea
August 2025-New dayroom itteration new sofa set up-so very comfortable...
Style is what you make it....
Wearing all cotton is a staple for any Southern Gentleman.
A good understanding of those you might meet with a lesser sense of style...... Well!
That might change more often as we mature gracefully into our seasoned time.
The sense of house plants are a positive essence when setting up a home space. The plants naturally clean the air in the home. They filter out what we naturally we do not want to consume. The construct of a home using all natural fibers is one of the most comfortable feelings one can make.

Nothing makes a home comfy as much as pure cottons and linen
Wearing all cotton is a staple for any Southern Gentleman.
A must.
A good understanding of those you might meet with a lesser sense of style...... Well!
